Selection Process
We hand-select and personally interview every applicant!
Only the very best vendors in the wedding industry will ever make it onto My Own Bridal Show.
Our aim is to ensure that couples can shop with confidence and that they receive the very best available service from every vendor listed on our site. To this end, we subject every applicant to a rigorous screening process described below and begin by requiring a minimum of 2 years of Wedding Industry experience to even apply.
Step 1: Compile Your Data
As a professional wedding vendor, we don’t require hordes of documents from you, but we will need everything that really matters! This includes:
- References from two of your Wedding Industry peers (any category).
- At least 2 references from clients you have worked with in the last year (for each vendor category).
- Proof of licensure for your area expertise (if required by local or state laws).
- Proof of liability insurance for your business.
Step 2: Agree to Our Code of Conduct and Apply
When you are ready, review and agree to our Code of Ethics & Conduct then fill out our application form including your consent to allow us to complete a background search on your company.
Step 3: Pass a Background Check
We will confirm the receipt of your application and proceed to check (and double-check) your application and data including but not limited to investigating your history with Better Business Bureau. This can take anywhere between a few days and a few weeks. As soon as we’re done, you will receive a notification with a summary of our findings.
Step 4: Personal Interview
If you passed the background check, we will schedule a personal interview with you. When everything goes fine, your listing will appear on My Own Bridal Show within days of our meeting.
